Description

I am looking to replace the standard shoutbox on my forum with LightIRC. There is one major issue I can see with this and was wondering if there was some way around it.
The shoutbox appears on all pages of the forums, so anyone browsing around will still be able to chat.
The problem with IRC is that when you leave the page for another, it disconnects/reconnects you. So on our server we will be seeing an awful lot of "Guest123234 has joined, Guest123234 has quit, Guest123234 has joined, Guest123234 has quit" as the user browses.

I wondered if anyone else had gotten around this somehow.. it won't be a problem to the user themselves probably, but all the other people in the chat and the constant joining/leaving of guests or even registered users.

Simply use params.showJoinPartMessages = false; to hide this kind of messages.

Thank you, that helps anyone using LightIRC but not all the people with other clients (although they can just configure their own clients I guess)
